All Nations Outreach Society

What we do
The All Nations Outreach Society is a non-profit organization founded by James Harry Sr., a proud Haisla Nation member and outreach/peer support worker whose life journey fuels his mission. Together with a dedicated team of Outreach Workers, James serves Indigenous people living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES), many of whom are navigating the challenges of substance use, mental health, and homelessness.
James leads with compassion, meeting people where they are and building genuine, trusting relationships. Through this work, he helps reconnect community members with their culture, identity, and ancestral roots—offering not just support but hope and belonging.
His deep commitment comes from lived experience. After battling addiction and beginning his own healing journey in 2014, James became sober and, just a few years later, started walking alongside others on similar paths. In 2017, he began offering support to Haisla members in the DTES and became the Haisla Nation’s first urban outreach worker.
Today, the All Nations Outreach Society reaches hundreds of Indigenous people in the DTES and across British Columbia—walking with them in their healing, honoring their stories, and helping light the path forward through culture, connection, and care.
